HOW WE ACHIEVED THE CROSSINGS
EMAIL FROM MP Mike Foster
Dear David
Thank you for your e-mail and may I begin by
sending my best wishes to you and the family, and in particular to McAyla, who I understand is incredibly brave and making
very good progress. As the father of three children, living in the London Road area, I can fully appreciate how
distressing the past month has been for you and I admire your determination to campaign on behalf of McAyla and to try
and get something positive from this terrible accident.
I
was contacted a couple of weeks ago by someone supporting the McAyla campaign for better pedestrian crossing facilities in
the area and I have already contacted Worcestershire County Council to see what can be done to review the speed of traffic
and the pedestrian facilities in London Road.
As soon as I have a response to my enquiries I will contact you again, but rest assured I will do all I can
to support this campaign, not just in London Road,
but in many other similar roads in Worcester. Please pass on my best wishes to McAyla and I hope she
continues to make excellent progress.

Responce
from Robin Walker
Dear Mr Lamb,
Thank you for contacting me about
McAyla's campaign. I am indeed
supporting it and I think you are drawing attention to a very serious
issue.
Only
last week I was outside Nunnery Wood High School to draw
attention to simillar problems on Spetchley Road, which
are putting
the lives of schoolchildren in real danger.
I support having 20 MPH limits around schools where
practicable and I agree that they need to be as clearly signposted as possible. I also support having proper crossings
where they can be safely introduced. I am well aware of the problems on London Road. It looks to me like your
proposed crossing points make sense, I will make enquiries as to how the councils have reviewed these and I will draw
the attention of my colleagues an friends on both the city council and the county council to your campaign and
its proposals.
Please accept my best wishes for you and your family, especially
McAyla, who is clearly a
brave and inspiring girl. Congratulations on
what you are doing - it is important for people to take a stand and
you have bravely gone forward and done so.
best wishes,
Robin Walker
